There’s always a blue sky —
even when you can’t see it.
Our Approach
At Blue Sky, we believe therapy should bring both safety and structure — a space where compassion meets proven methods. Healing shouldn’t be a guessing game.
That’s why we use evidence-based, research-backed approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and EMDR — methods proven to help people heal from trauma, strengthen relationships, and experience lasting change.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) EFT helps individuals, couples, and families strengthen emotional bonds and heal from disconnection. It’s one of the most effective, evidence-based models for relationship repair — focused on creating safety, understanding, and deeper connection.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) EMDR helps people process trauma and emotional distress by safely reprocessing painful memories so they lose their intensity — allowing you to think and feel differently about what happened without being controlled by it.
We don’t see therapy as one-size-fits-all. Every person brings a unique story, and our role is to help you make sense of yours — using tools that are grounded in research and guided by genuine compassion.
What's our Story?
For years, Barry had a piece of artwork hanging in his office — a painting of snow-capped mountains under a wide, open blue sky. He looked at it every day as he sat with people in their pain.
That image became more than decoration — it became a metaphor for life, and eventually, the name of his practice.
Even when life feels cloudy or stormy, the blue sky is still there. It never disappears — it only gets covered up for a while.
Part of the work we do in therapy is learning how to weather the storms, find hope in the middle of them, and rise above what’s in the way so we can see clearly again.
Blue Sky was born out of Barry's own story of healing. He experienced deep personal and relational restoration through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and EMDR. Those experiences didn’t just change his life — they changed his marriage, family, and future.
In that season, Barry told the Lord "If you could use my story, I would give my life to helping others experience the same kind of transformation." Blue Sky is the fulfillment of that promise — a place where people can find hope, safety, and direction as they rebuild what’s been broken.
This work isn’t just about counseling; it’s about generational change — helping individuals and families create new patterns of connection, resilience, and grace.
Barry has been a person of faith his whole life, and for more than 26 years he has also served as a pastor — bringing a message of hope and love to anyone willing to listen.
